Jingle the Elf has returned!

Our elf, Jingle, returned 4 days ago.  The boys were super excited to see him.  They love seeing all the crazy stuff he does.  In fact today they were so excited that they were up at 4 this morning with their flashlights on trying to find him.  They were quickly sent back to bed.

The first day we found Jingle hanging on the boys Santa picture.  He left his book to read and a note in scrabble tiles.  Trevor made him a gift and a note asking if he made presents.
The second day we found Jingle zip lining from the ceiling fan over to the window.  He had replied to Trevor's note saying his main job was a scout elf for the boys and thanked Trevor for the present.
Next we found Jingle helping dad make coffee

Trevor made a Lego tower to see if Jingle would play on it....sure enough he was sitting on top of it this morning.
I wonder where Jingle will show up next!!

Cub Scout Pack Meeting

Tonight was a great night at our monthly Cub Scout Pack Meeting.  A soldier came and talked to the boys and let them try on his packs and helmets.  He told them about his 4 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  He also answered all their silly questions like, "Why do military guys cuss so much?"

After our speaker, some of the boys were handed out awards.  Tonight Trevor got his bicycling belt loop and his Leave No Trace award.
The scouts that sold at least $500 in popcorn were awarded gift cards as well as got to throw pies at their den leaders and our Cubmaster.
Trevor is ready to throw one at Cindy (Den Leader).
He got her right in the face.
Now he gets to throw one at our Cubmaster Mr. Walters.
He got him right on the forehead.  Everyone cheered!!
All the scouts watching as pies are thrown.
I am so proud of Trevor for working hard to sell popcorn.  He has done a really great job at Cub Scouts.  Thanks to all that supported him.

Decorating the Christmas Tree 2012

We put up the Christmas tree tonight.  The boys had fun seeing all the ornaments again.  Several were dropped or fell off the tree but only one got broken so it was successful.
Here is Craig balancing after putting the top layer of the tree on.

Thanksgiving Weekend 2012

We have had a fun but busy weekend.  Craig took off Wednesday so we took the boys to see Rise of the Guardians.
Thursday we did the Turkey Trot.  The boys had fun wearing their turkey leg hats we made.  Later in the afternoon Grandma and Grandpa came over for our Thanksgiving meal and games.  It was a fun day.
On Friday we went to a parade, ate lunch out and put up our Christmas decorations.
Saturday we went to a craft fair.  Cole was able to have a chat with the big guy in red.  He told him he wants a telescope (which is really what Trevor wants), a castle and a puppet chine (puppet show).
Trevor spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa so we took Cole to Home Depot and ice cream at Yogurt Beach.
The boys are really excited for Christmas.  They love seeing all the decorations come out.
They both wanted color in their hair.  Trevor wanted his to look like a Christmas tree.

Tree Lighting 2012

We went to the Reno tree lighting ceremony tonight.  We listened to a choir sing, saw the tree be lit and watched the ice skaters.  It was a fun evening.

Making Pizza at BJ's

We went to BJ's and made pizza with our MOMS Club today.  They had a long table set up with aprons, pizza pans, spoons and lots of toppings.  The kids each got to flatten out their dough, add sauce and the toppings they wanted.  They they placed it on the pizza oven belt and waited for it to come out.  We took our pizzas to the park and had a picnic.  It was a fun and tasty event.

Leave No Trace Hike

Trevor went on a Leave No Trace hike today with some of the cub scouts from the pack.  The hike was for the boys who were close to earning their leave no trace badge.  They learned about the importance of environment and how to treat nature.  He also learned about plants and tree in the area and how to recognize them.  At the end of the hike he was awarded a star for being a nature ninja.
